What’s happening tonight? Tonight we celebrate the 10th anniversary of NORCASistema in Norwich. We’re going to have a party. In fact a Fiesta!
NORCASistema is a charity based in Norwich. We teach children and young people in the most economically deprived areas of Norwich to play musical instruments. Tonight we will have over 60 u18’s playing a full range of pieces – fun, classical, improvised.
I’m a Trustee of NORCASistema and we are business sponsors along with a small number of other businesses. In practice this means we pay forward a bit of cash, and we promote the organisation. Why? Because we believe in the fundamental concept of social action through music. Learning music helps brain development, social relationships, co-operation as well as the skills involved in practicing and performing. Playing music with others is a joyful thing to do, and let’s face it we all need a little more joy in our lives!
So – when you book a ceremony, you know that not only are you having a good time at your wedding but your generosity in choosing this celebrant means that you are also contributing to making Norwich a ‘City of Orchestras’, which is our ambition.
Take a look at our collaboration with Americana band The Vagaband last year in the video attached to this post, and while you’re at it why don’t you go to the NORCASistema website and get on our mailing list, or make a donation?
